ATLANTA, GEORGIA – Godfather’s Pizza International was formed in early 2017 to take the iconic award-winning 1,000+ unit pizza chain outside the United States for the first time.  Godfather’s Pizza Inc. and two senior executives with an extensive background in International QSR and franchise management, Mike Shattuck and Jerry Bell, signed a Licensed Agreement to take Godfather’s Pizza global.  Mike and Jerry have more than 75 years in franchising having served as international presidents, COOs, VPs and general managers for numerous world-famous brands with more than 3,000 units.

“We waited 45 years to take Godfather’s Pizza global because we wanted to be absolutely certain to do it the right way. Getting to know Mike and Jerry, we knew we had finally found someone we could trust with the integrity of our brand,” said Ron Gartlan, CEO and president of Godfather’s Pizza Inc.

“Jerry and I had previously worked together as a team for many years and had always wanted to pool our talents and venture out on our own to take legendary U.S.A. brands to the world like we had in our corporate roles,” said Mike Shattuck, Managing Director of Godfather’s Pizza International (GPI).  “We targeted Godfather’s Pizza as our first choice and were very pleased to be able to partner with their team.”

Godfather’s Pizza was first launched outside the United States in 2019 in Russia as the result of a 45-unit development agreement with Oleg Papazov, CEO/owner of the 250+ unit franchise of Cinnabon®, Auntie Anne’s® and Hesburger.  He currently has seven operating Godfather’s Pizza restaurants in Russia.

Based on the brand’s success in Russia, considerable interest has now been shown by qualified QSR operators in the Middle East prompting GPI to open its Bahrain office to service these new Mideastern markets as well as the Russian market and all future markets in the Middle East/Europe/Africa region.

“I am once again pleased to become a member of Mike and Jerry’s team for such a great brand like Godfather’s Pizza,” said newly appointed regional director, Yasser Ismael, a native Egyptian, who most recently served as Middle East regional director for FOCUS Brands International (Cinnabon®, Auntie Anne’s®, Carvel®, Seattle’s Best Coffee® and others).  Yasser had previously worked on Mike and Jerry’s teams at both FOCUS Brands and Cinnabon/Seattle’s Best Coffee for a total of 15 years.
